This is an interface to an experimental database, based on Radio 3 playlists.
Currently it goes back to the first few days of 2008, and is updated daily in the early hours, for the previous day.
One intended use is as a music index to BBC Sounds, with the added facility of an indication of where within a programme a work starts.
The list below defaults to 30 days from yesterday, so it theoretically contains information of all the music available on BBC Sounds, as broadcast by Radio 3, up to the previous day. In practice this might not be the case as the playlists aren't always complete.
A search facility is included below to allow the search to be narrowed.
The following is a brief description of the columns in the listing below. ('Composer', 'Title', 'Programme' and 'Date' are self-explanatory.)
Start: the start time of the programme.
Posn: the position within the programme of the work in question.
Offset: the time (hh:mm:ss) within the programme where the work in question starts - useful for navigating using the BBC Sounds time bar.
R3 Link: links to the Radio 3 web page for the programme (e.g. for performer information, confirmation of time left on BBC Sounds).
Sounds Link: links to the BBC Sounds page for the programme. If this column is blank, the programme has expired (currently available for 30 days).
Time Remaining: if the Sounds Link column is occupied, this indicates how long the programme is available on BBC Sounds. This is calculated on the assumption that the programme is available for 30 days from the beginning of the programme. This is not always the case, so when the calculated time is a few hours, this column prompts you to check the time left via the R3 Link.
