Thom Tuck presents the pick of the new sketch groups currently performing live on the UK comedy circuit - with character, improv, broken and musical sketch comedy.

This final episode of the second series is in Glasgow and also features a special one-off reunion performance from classic sketch group Absolutely.

The sketch groups featured in episode four of Sketchorama are:

ENDEMIC
Endemic came together in 2009 as a loose collective of performers who just wanted to make new, funny stuff. This diverse bunch of experienced comedians, musicians, writers, actors and film-makers have since produced a variety of comedic offerings - music videos, online sketches and live shows, including a run at the Edinburgh Fringe festival. Their fan-base is growing, and now includes some of their own friends and family.

ABSOLUTELY
Members of the cast of Channel 4's hugely popular sketch show Absolutely reunited for a special, one-off radio appearance as part of this second series of Sketchorama. Pete Baikie, Morwenna Banks, Moray Hunter, Gordon Kennedy and John Sparkes recorded the show at The Oran Mor in Glasgow and performed new and classic material from some of the show's favourite characters - including Calum Gilhooley, Denzil and Gwynedd, The Little Girl and the Stoneybridge Town Council.

Series 1

Episode 3

The third in a four-part sketch show co-written by and starring comedian and actress Kerry Godliman.

Kerry is a married mother of two, a stand up comedian and has two children. Her life can only properly function with her daily list - if she didn't compile this vital list, her life would simply fall apart.
Each week, this series looks at a different list and delves into Kerry's madcap world by looking at various elements of that week's list in sketches, narrative and stand up.

In this third episode, Kerry's List involves bleaching mugs, napping, sorting out cobwebs, distressing a chest of drawers, organizing CDs, keeping my friend's secret, growing vegetables and buying Puy Lentils.

Joining Kerry is her husband Ben (played by her real husband Ben Abell) and her five year old daughter Elsie (played by Melissa Bury) together with a range of bizarre characters - including an enthusiastic council environment worker, some disgruntled satsumas, a bored therapist, a Fairy Jeanmother and a very keen gym instructor.

Any busy parent who's ever compiled a list of their own will relate to Kerry Godliman's incident filled world.

The cast includes David Pusey (who co-wrote the series), Bridget Christie, Lucy Briers, Rosie Cavaliero and Nicholas Le Prevost.

Kerry Godliman is fast establishing herself as a highly skilful stand up comic and actress, from her recent appearances on Live at The Apollo (BBC 1), Derek (C4) and Our Girl (BBC 1).

It was not until early in the 20th century that Harlow Shapley began to estimate the distances of the stars and hence map out the Milky Way in three-dimensional detail. Radio astronomy finally yielded the ability to penetrate the dark clouds towards the galactic centre and see the true distribution of matter in the skies.

Deep Space

Heather Couper presents a narrative history of astronomy.

In 1845 the third Earl of Rosse completed the biggest telescope in the world at his castle in the centre of Ireland. In spite of cloudy skies, this leviathan enabled him to see spectacular detail in the sky, including a spiral structure in certain fuzzy patches known as nebulae. Some of these seemed so big that astronomers thought they must be rotating clouds of gas out of which planetary systems are born.

Henrietta Swan Leavitt refuted this, studying variable stars and realising that a certain type of star varied at a rate that was linked to its brightness. These so-called Cepheid variables could be used to estimate the vast distances of space.

In 1919, the young Edwin Hubble used a new telescope in California to search for Leavitt's Cepheids in spiral nebulae. He discovered, to his astonishment, that the nearest, the Andromeda nebula, lay well outside our own galaxy and constituted an island universe in its own right.

Readers are Timothy West, Robin Sebastian, Julian Rhind-Tutt and John Palmer.
