SAT 00:00 The Laxian Key (b007k2m3)
Episode 2

London is melting, but planetary decontaminationists Arnold and Gregor get the blame and go on the run.

Stephen Hawking once warned us that our species could soon be wiped out by plagues, asteroids and our tendency to destroy ourselves. The solution, he suggested, was for us to colonise other planets. But Chris Larner and David Gilbert's sci-fi comedy sees the truth as a little more complicated.

The Laxian Key shows how, as soon as Man steps onto another planet, he promptly fouls it up just as he did earth. The heroes of this wonderfully wacky tale are two interplanetary decontaminationists.

Grand Central station, New York. 1:23pm. What starts as a normal day on the city subway becomes a race against time when a busy commuter train is hijacked - by four armed men. As the hostages await their fate, a terrifying game of cat and mouse begins...

Read by William Hope.

John Godey's thriller abridged in 5-parts by Neville Teller.

A best-seller in 1973, 'The Taking of Pelham 123' was made into the 1974 film starring Walter Matthau and Robert Shaw, a 1998 TV-movie remake of the same title, and a 2009 film starring Denzel Washington and John Travolta. The novel's impact - and that of the subsequent 1974 film - apparently resulted in New York's City Transit Authority banning any scheduling of a train departing Pelham station at 1:23 for many years.

Using the pen name John Godey, Brooklyn-born author Morton Freedgood's crime novels include 'A Thrill a Minute With Jack Albany', 'Never Put Off Till Tomorrow What You Can Kill Today' and 'The Three Worlds of Johnny Handsome'.

Producer: Heather Larmour

English reverend, railway enthusiast and popular mystery writer (1868 - 1933) - Victor Lorenzo Whitechurch's immaculate plots were much admired by Dorothy L Sayers and Ellery Queen. He was one of the first authors to submit his stories to Scotland Yard so they could vet his police procedures.

Series 4

Celebrity Weatherman

In this episode, Milton proves that you don't need to be a weatherman to know which way the wind blows - you just need a fully-working anemometer and a mouse called Tim.

Hurricanes, eclipses and a box of Duchy Originals are just some of the hideous forces of nature Milton has to reckon with. So if you like talking about the weather - and what English person doesn't - then wrap up warm and make sure you catch Another Case Of Milton Jones.

Milton's joined in his endeavours by his co-stars Tom Goodman-Hill (Camelot), Dan Tetsell (Mongrels) and Lucy Montgomery (Down The Line).

Britain's funniest Milton and the king of the one-liner returns with a fully-working cast and a shipload of jokes for this series of daffy comedy adventures.

Each week, Milton is a complete and utter expert at something - Top Gun aviator, Weatherman, Billy Elliot-style dancer, World-beating cyclist, mathematical genius and Extreme Travel Entrepreneur. And each week, with absolutely no ability or competence, he plunges into a big adventure with utterly funny results.

"Milton Jones is one of Britain's best gagsmiths with a flair for creating daft yet perfect one-liners" - The Guardian
"King of the surreal one-liners" - The Times
"If you haven't caught up with Jones yet - do so!" - Daily Mail
