The BBC has announced that it has a sustainable plan for the future of the BBC Singers, in association with The VOCES8 Foundation.
The threat to reduce the staff of the three English orchestras by 20% has not been lifted, but it is being reconsidered.

The Offer was set in a house with a yard full of junk, featuring the lives of rag and bone men Albert Steptoe and his son Harold and it was the spark for a run of 8 series for TV.

He's visited over 97 countries, not just to satisfy his curiosity for music, but as a foreign correspondent. He talks to Clive about his career, his highly publicised breakdown and his return to broadcasting last year with Radio 3's Music Planet.

Operation Julie. 1976. The biggest drugs bust in British History, hauling six million 'tabs' of LSD with a street value of £100 million, a hundred people arrested and news programmes extended to cover the event. It even inspired a Clash song 'Julie's been working for the Drug's Squad'. And Leaf Fielding was in the middle of it all as one of the ringleaders. Reformed and reflective, Leaf tells Clive how he went from hippie idealism to incarceration.

She starts reminiscing about her childhood in Nebraska living with her charismatic lecturer father and about her first love, Willy Blunt whom she left behind when she went to college and has never looked back.

Written with distinctive style by Tom McNeal, it's an immersive, atmospheric story in which Judith starts to become more and more disconnected with her chosen life and starts yearning for the past. After the death of her beloved father and the beginning of stress induced migraines at work, Judith retraces her steps back to a few glorious teenage summers.

After 27 years, she tries to get back in touch with significant figures from her past...
